Harmonized System Update (HSU) 1205

Please note that Harmonized System Update (HSU) 1205 was created on May 15, 2012 and contains 104,645 ABI records and 20,681 harmonized tariff records. The modifications were made as a result of the US-Columbia Trade Promotion Agreement, which became effective May 15, 2012.

Adjustments required by the authentication of the 2012 Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) are also included. The modified records are currently available to all ABI participants and can be retrieved electronically via the procedures indicated in the CATAIR. For further information about this process, please contact your client representative.

How to Update to the Latest HTS Release

In order to ensure that you have the latest HTS Release, IES CHB customers should follow the step-by-step instructions in the below link that show you how to:

    (1) Determine which HTS Release you are currently using, and

    (2) Update to the latest HTS Release if your company is not currently using 1205.

On March 26, 2012, President Obama issued Presidential Proclamation 8788 (FR 1889, March 29, 2012) suspending Argentina’s GSP eligibility because Argentina had not acted in good faith in enforcing two longstanding arbitral awards.



Goods of Argentina will lose Generalized System of Preference (GSP) eligibility if entered or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption on or after May 28, 2012.

Please note that Release 12.03 is now available for IES Desktop Customers.

We encourage you to review the Release Notes and Resolved Issues document at your convenience.

The PDF document has been posted online at the following URL:

If you would like to update your IES desktop software to reflect the latest release, please submit a ticket, select Core System as the department, hit Next, title the subject 'Request Update' and hit 'Submit'.

There is no need to request an update if you exclusively use IES web-based products such as eCellerate or AMS. This update is only for IES desktop products such as Ocean and Air Import, PO Direct, Accounting, etc. In addition, please note that IES Hosted customers have already been updated and do not need to request an update.
